The Berry Suite

The Berry Suite is one of our largest and surely the most exclusive room at Katamah. Often referred to as the Honeymoon Suite, as it is the most secluded accommodation as our only second story room. Surrounded by bougainvillea and fruit trees prepare to wake to the beautiful sounds of singing birds & to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. This beautiful large suite is unbelievably peaceful, the perfect place for one or two to spend some much needed quiet time. The Berry Suite is a wonderfully open airy, light-filled space. Its interior recently painted in a nice soft white linen brings out the unique decorative details like the lovely Moroccan painted slay bench that sits at the foot of the kingsize bed. Nicely shaded by its east facing veranda this room is the best spot on the property to catch the sunrise. It also features wooden shutters to block the morning light for those mornings in which you would prefer to sleep in. This substantial porch is fully screened and offers ample seating with mountain and ocean views. it's a lovely outdoor The newly renovated bathroom features a beautiful new glass shower stall with a luxurious powerful spa-like rain shower. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size fridge with freezer, bar sink, cappuccino machine, electric skillet, toaster & dishes and cutlery for cutting up fruit or preparing light meals. The suite opens up onto a 26 x 8 foot screened in private bamboo veranda which has a hammock bar seating at the kitchen breakfast bar/counter, whose only entrance is from the room it’s self through two 36” double doors which are directly across from the Kingsize bed allowing the Berry suite to not only be very well-ventilated but also making it the breeziest room on the property. The Laila Suite

The Laila Suite is our largest ground floor ocean view room. From its beautiful Moroccan architectural details to the grandness of its many eight and six-foot windows to its French glass doors opening up onto a lovely outdoor living space surrounded hummingbirds and flowering plants in the lush Katamah garden. The bathroom for the Laila room is in a separate freestanding building allowing it to be well-ventilated and its private outdoor shower is surrounded by plants and has walls made of bamboo all under a plantain tree in the garden behind the house. The bathroom also has a large screened window made from an authentic original Moroccan window gate and a lovely hand carved teak mirror from East India. With its additional room with daybed, the Laila Suite is the only room set up as a permeant three person room. This beautiful Suite has been our most popular room on the property every year since Katamah opened in 2012. The Saida

The Saida is in the Moroccan Villa is on the beautiful, shady garden surrounded verandah and is wonderfully cool. The Saida has cathedral wood-paneled ceilings adorned with a beautiful brass and stained glass Moroccan lantern. The Saida is the perfect room for guests looking forward to catching afternoon siestas during their stay with us. The Saida features a beautiful en suite bathroom with handmade Moroccan tub. All of our guest rooms have fans and hot water. We offer full linen and towel service, daily housekeeping for all of our guest rooms. There is free WiFi through out the property.

The Habibi

All of the rooms of The Moroccan Villa are off of the lovely shaded veranda over looking the garden. The Habibi is at the far end of the veranda, so it has an additional set of windows which feature beautiful stained glass. It also has cathedral wood panel ceilings with a beautiful large brass Moroccan lantern, which casts a lovely flower pattern on its walls. Like the Saida, this room has a private bathroom with a hand-made Moroccan tub. All of our guest rooms have fans and hot water. We offer full linen and towel service, daily housekeeping for all of our guest rooms. There is free WiFi through out the property.

The Cabin

The Cabin is on the beach and is our second closest room to the Ocean. Now painted white inside and out, this Cabin formally known as the Cool Breezy Cabin it has just undergone major renovation with the ocean facing wall having been removed and replaced with floor to ceiling screened shutters and a stain glassed French door which opens onto a lovely private covered screened porch twelve feet wide and eight feet deep. Now providing a comfortable outdoor seating option the screen porch has a cafe style dining option which is lite by overhead Moroccan lanturn. The covered porch also has a ocean facing day bed perfect for reading or an afternoon nap. This Ocean facing seaside cabin is fully screened, painted inside and out in a soft natural linen white. The Amina Cabin

The Amina Cabin is a beautiful modern addition to our diverse accommodations at Katamah. Located on the beach and our closest room to the Ocean. The Amina Cabin is designed to allow guests to enjoy and experience the beautiful natural surrounding from the privacy of their room. With ocean views from bed through its glass wall overlooking the Sea, this colonial style wooden board house also has a wrap around screened porch on two sides so that you can feel free to leave the double doors open and feel the breeze off the ocean. The enclosed HOT outdoor shower is on its own separate deck outside the back door of the kitchen. The small efficiency kitchen has concrete counter mini fridge Coffee & Tea with windows on two sides. It is the only room on the property that has an ocean view of the sun setting into the Sea. The enclosed covered screen porch not only works as a privacy screen for the glass wall but also for mosquito proofing for its two seating areas. The Garden Cottage

The Garden Cottage is perfect for a family of 4-5 or 2 couples traveling together looking for a beachfront oasis in walking distance to restaurants and shops here in Treasure Beach. Tucked in the shade of our Katamah garden and less than 1 min walk to the sea, the two bedrooms of the Cottage open onto a large screen porch with small kitchenette. Between the rooms is 1 large, adjoining bathroom.

FAQ's

Does Katamah serve breakfast or have a restaurant?
We do not serve food at Katamah as we are within 2-10 minutes walking distance from all restaurants on the beach and in town! We encourage our guests to support our neighbors who are cooking up delicious food all day! Neighboring Katamah you will find Jamaican, Italian, Vegan, Seafood, and more! 5 minutes or less walking is the famous breakfast with Ms. Dawn at Smurf's Cafe. We will tell you all about all your options here in Treasure Beach upon your check in and hope you enjoy fully experiencing our little beach village.

What are my transportation options to Katamah?
If you'd like to get picked up from the airport or a previous accommodation by our driver, just let us know in your reservation details or write us an email anytime. For those traveling by bus, our closest stops are Luana in Black River (35 minutes from Katamah) or Gutters near Mandeville (1 hr 10 minutes from Katamah). Our Route Taxi stop is Frenchman's in Treasure Beach. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance with your travels.

How can I take a boat tour to The Pelican Bar or Black River?
A visit to the breathtaking Pelican Bar or the spectacular Black River is just steps away. At Katamah, you are just a short walk down the beach from the fishing boats that sometimes carry folks to the best sights of the South Coast! We arrange tours for our guests with only the best, most trusted boat captains. We organize group tours (when possible) to ensure our guests have the best experience at the best possible price. When you arrive, we can chat about when you'd like to go, or you may write us an email in advance.

Do Katamah rooms have A/C? 
In our efforts to be environmentally conscious, we offer fan-cooled rooms. As we are right by the sea, we stay pretty cool! Our Garden Cottage I is our only accommodation with an A/C option.

Can I do laundry at Katamah?
We do offer a laundry washing service. A small bag of items is $5 usd. Your laundry bill should be paid in cash to your Manager upon check out.

Do your rates include taxes and fees?
All room sales are subject to a 10% room tax and $1 usd per night city tax. There are no additional fees.

What time is Check In and Check Out? 
Check in to rooms is 3pm. Guests are always welcome to check in to the property early and we will let you know as soon as your room is available!
